Dock Repair on Bear Lake

Docks take a beating out here. Decking and frames wear, hardware corrodes, and pilings and moorings work loose. We repair all of it, on steel, aluminum, wood, and composite docks, whether the dock is in the water or out. We also dive, so work below the waterline gets inspected and fixed in place instead of guessed at from the surface.

What this looks like on Bear Lake

Most dock repair calls on Bear Lake trace back to one of three things: wind and wave damage, a piling that has lost its footing, or fasteners that finally gave up. The visible damage is usually a symptom of one of those rather than the actual problem, so it is worth finding out which before spending money on the surface.

A dock that has racked out of square will keep racking until whatever let it move is fixed. Replacing boards on top of that is money you spend twice. We would rather tell you that up front than come back in two seasons.

Photos help more than you would think. A few shots of the decking, the frame from the side, and the waterline at each piling are usually enough for us to tell you what we are looking at and roughly what it takes.

Common questions

Can you give a quote from photos?
Usually we can give you a realistic range from good photos. We confirm on site before any work starts.
Do you repair docks while they are in the water?
Yes. We repair docks in the water or out, so the work can happen during the season or while the dock is pulled.
Can you work underwater?
Yes. We dive to inspect and repair what sits below the waterline, like pilings, footings, and anchors, so the problem gets found and fixed where it actually is.
